I had an incredible experience a few days ago that I wanted to share with you. My wife and I were staying at a hotel in San Jose California. While she was out meeting clients for her business, I decided to stay in hotel room and write. After a couple hours of writing I needed a break so I decided to grab my room key and go for a walk. After fifteen minutes I returned and discovered that my room key no longer opened the door to my room. At this point in time it was 630 at night and I was still in my pajamas. After a few moments of debating what to do in my mind, I decided to suffer the embarrassment and walk down to see the concierge in the lobby. Of course many people laughed and stared at my pajamas, but I made it through. I approached the concierge and described my dilemma of not being able to enter my room. The concierge informed me that because or reservation was in my wife’s name and her and I have different last names, he could not provide me with another room key until my wife returned. After a few moments of trying to reason with the concierge, I finally accepted my fate of being stuck in the lobby in my pajamas. Rather than complaining and fighting the situation I surrendered to it. I found a comfortable place to sit and meditated for 2 hours until my wife had returned. Those 2 hours were the best 2 hours I had ever had in meditation. It was the first time I had ever meditated in a busy public place. Quieting my mind, while meditating in the privacy of my own home, is a challenge as it is. It was amazing to observe how my body wanted to react to all of the voices and comments that people made while walking bye. I learned how to quiet my mind overtime in spite of the exterior chaos. I experienced calm within the storm. To be able to remain still and at one with what is in at that moment made a profound impact on my life. I realized that if I can experience deep peace in a chaotic hotel lobby in my pajamas, I can experience peace anywhere.

Discover What You Were Born To Do
Many people approach me and ask me how they can find their purpose in life. Often times I tell them to take time out of their day on a consistent basis and pay attention to their body. At that point in time they often look at me a little funny and wonder what their body has to do with finding their purpose. EVERYTHING!!!! Your body is giving you feedback on a consistent basis telling you if what you are doing is in alignment with your purpose. In order to find your purpose you need to recognize when your body is feeling good about what you are doing. What I mean by feeling good is the following:
1)You have energy and you feel alive
2)You have a sense of passion and enthusiasm for what you’re doing
3)You feel inspired to create and your imagination seems to explore
4)Your mind appears to break down barriers and you feel the abundance within the universe
5)There is a sense of belonging and you recognize a sense of familiarity with it.
6)You feel pulled towards it
There are many more of these types of indications. Your job is to recognize them and pay attention to your body. Begin right away don’t wait! Procrastination is the Killer of action. Take action Now, before it’s too late.

Here is a little piece of my new book A Way of Life coming soon
Life can be such a bittersweet experience. Just as we fall in love with people and get attached to things we discover the impermanence of the physical world. People we love pass away, the material possessions get old and fall apart, and even our own body transforms. Those who remain in the stage of living solely in a material and physical world inevitably suffer. All things are impermanent and they change like the passing winds. Those who make the transition to the meaning stage of life have an acceptance and recognition that everything that ever was and is in the present moment serves a purpose. They see the meaning of the life within its impermanence. Life is such a wonderful experience and yet it’s also heartbreaking because we can’t hold on to it. The present moment will be a memory within the context of time. Because of that impermanence one must enjoy the present moment. Recognize that there are no ordinary moments and beauty exists within each moment. Life is beautiful because of its impermanence. When you recognize the meaning and beauty behind the appearance of each physical form you find truth. And seeing that truth is recognizing God in everything you see.
